The Li Ka Shing Learning and Knowledge Center is the new School of Medicine building at Stanford University.
The centre brings together traditional and innovative learning spaces under one distinctive red roof, which is cladded in PARKLEX PRODEMA panels with a Rubi finish. They are composed of a high-density bakelite body, treated wood veneer and an outer film that protects them from solar radiation, atmospheric agents and dirt.
The centre’s design won the Excellence in Landscape Architecture prize at the 2013 Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) Excellence Awards. The awards aim to shine a light on design excellence for colleges and universities.
