Gensler’s adaptive reuse project of the Frisco Public Library transforms a former Texan manufacturing structure, previously used for producing food and aerospace products, into a center for public knowledge. The library design takes inspiration from the ecological history of the state’s Blackland Prairie and aims to create an environment that promotes dynamic learning for both visitors and staff.
The exterior facade uses Parklex Prodema panels in Mustard, a tone that blends with the native plants selected for the landscape design of the project. The cladding panels were custom-installed to create an overlapped siding system that adds character to the 12000 feet facade while giving a nod to the vernacular architecture. The technical features of Parklex Prodema products guarantee the durability of the installation, offering high resistance to extreme weather agents while requiring zero maintenance.
