Proximity to the Artic Circle made snowdrifts and sub-zero temperatures key design considerations at Sheehan Nagle Hartray Architects, for Facebook database in Luleå. On the exterior facade, the use of Parklex Prodema natural wood cladding was decisive: the engineered HPL panels offer exceptional resilience to extreme atmospheric agents while maintaining the vernacular warmth of natural wood. The panels, which are maintenance-free, were custom-perforated to capture patterns of indoor daylight.
