Steinhardt Museum of Natural History
Kimmel Eshkolot

The Steinhardt Museum of Natural History in Tel Aviv, Israel, houses the natural history collection of Tel Aviv University and serves as a research centre for staff. It also connects the university’s academic buildings with the botanical and zoological gardens.

The museum is defined by an eye-catching wooden shell that covers the outside of the building. The NATURCLAD-W panels that adorn this ‘treasure box’ insulate the museum’s exhibition spaces and give the structure a unique visual aesthetic.

A highly resistant PVDF outer film protects these panels from external conditions, eliminating the need for maintenance and providing climate control for the building’s interior. In turn, the panels help to preserve the valuable exhibits found within the museum’s treasure box.
